Amazon.com Product Description The 15-inch Magnavox 15MF605T HD-ready flat panel LCD TV is a perfect fit for your home's smaller rooms, such as the kitchen or your bedroom. It features a standard, 181-channel NTSC tuner, but is fully capable of high-definition display when connected to an optional HDTV source. This progressive scan display maximizes the picture quality of progressive-scan DVD players, set-top boxes, and digital video recorders. This ultra-slim set measures less than 6.75 inches deep with its included table stand, and it can also be wall mounted with an optional hardware kit. The 15MF605T features a 4:3 aspect ratio for viewing standard TV in fullscreen format with selectable 16:9 mode. It has a 1024 x 768-pixel resolution for compatibility with 1080i, 720p, and 480p DTV signals. Other features include a 130-degree horizontal viewing angle, fast 16 ms (millisecond) response time, 450 cd/m2 (candela per square meter) brightness rating, and 400:1 contrast ratio. (The higher the contrast ratio, the greater a TV's ability to display subtle color details and not get washed out by ambient room light.) The 2D comb filter separates chrominance (color) from luminance (brightness) information in the video signal for independent processing to improve picture resolution and minimize distortion. This set also offers the Smart Picture features that automatically adjusts picture settings to optimal levels, 3D motion adaptive de-interlacing, Picture-in-picture and split screen functionality, V-Chip parental controls, and tri-lingual menu displays (English, French, Spanish). This set has two built-in stereo speakers that produce 3 watts per channel (for 6 watts of total power). It can produce an immersive surround sound field via Dolby virtual surround sound, and the Smart Sound feature keeps volume levels constant while flipping through channels and commercial breaks. It provides the following connections: - Composite AV (RCA) In: 1
- S-Video In: 1
- Component Video In (Y PB PR): 1
- PC VGA In: 1

Nice little tv, terrible volume tuner! March 9, 2010 Melli (Baltimore, MD USA) I was given this tv as a Christmas gift in 2005. It is actually a nice, lightweight, compact, flatscreen tv. The picture is great and it hooks up nicely to your pc as a monitor too. I even had it mounted on my wall in my workout room and it looked great. The downside is the volume tuner is so bad. I once had it to its highest output and the volume was still so low. The only thing to do is turn the volume down to the lowest and turn off your tv and cable/satellite receiver box. Then turn it back on and try turning the volume up, frequently it will adjust to sound louder but what a pain (this will really drive you crazy). I finally hooked it up to a small shelf stereo system I had and connected the tv audio to the stereo so it was like surround sound and the stereo receiver became the volume control (thank goodness!).
I think it's great! February 14, 2010 Skye Lambert (Grass Valley, CA) I've had mine a couple years and have gotten so much use out of it, mostly gaming, and have never had a problem with it.
Great for kitchens...if u have excellent hearing! March 9, 2009 B. Stryker (New York) The color and definition are excellent.
We wanted a small TV for our kitchen counter....and it fit the bill, it seemed.
Not so fast.....it's loudest volume has us straining to hear.
The good thing is we are a bit quieter at dinner, or we can't hear the TV.
However, I am told, If I have the room for unsightly wires, I can add speakers to help this situation disappear....but, why would I want to clutter the area with more stuff?
So, it would be best to buy this TV for a bedroom or child's room, and not a busy area...or you'll be doing a lot of shushing!

used the tv in the kitchen for the past 2 years, didn't expect much for 250 bucks. picture and sound quality is fair at most. picture is shot at this point, time to chuck in the trash. need to find another small lcd, not much on the market unless you want to spend 2500 for sony's new 11" lcd. ugh!! someone should make a good small lcd!@
