Product Description Sony's 1080p KDL-40W4100 with Motionflow 120Hz technology doubles the number of existing frames by calculating in real time and inserting 60 entirely new frames between the original 60 frames, this creates a new standard for picture performance, with smooth, lifelike image quality that responds to the demands of even the fastest moving images with ease. Full HD 1080p means the W4100 connections accept 1080p signals and the Display will render that signal in Full HD 1080p. Take full advantage of Blu-ray Disc players and PlayStation(R) 3 systems that can deliver 1080p content. The latest version of Sony's respected BRAVIA Engine fully Digital video processor uses a collection of unique SONY algorithms to significantly reduce noise and produce sharp, vibrant, life-like images. With Advanced Contrast Enhancer (ACE) you get real-time image processing to dynamically adjust backlight levels for improved Contrast without masking details the filmmaker intended you to see. ACE delivers deep blacks in darker scenes, as well as fine details in shadows and other dark areas of the picture for a difference you can truly see. Add to that unique features like the enhanced Xross Media Bar(TM) with 3D graphics and integrated TV Guide program information, built-in DMeX functionality, and you can see why we call the W-series the new standard in 120Hz performance. If You Are Looking for Best Price & Features: Look No More!!! October 6, 2008 Sony Bravia W4100 Series has the best features for a tv in this price range. I too looked at the Samsung A650 but am glad I went the Sony. The remote on the sony is more intuitive, plus I didn't want the glass screen for the room I was going to use it in has a window facing the tv. The picture is amazing and the 120 hz is nice feature (I use it on standard mode not High)The Cinema Motion is great. The tv looks good in HD and Standard Definition and the picture looks true to life. The XBR series is alot higher in price but I rather have $700 extra dollars and a very nice tv. This TV is a tough act to follow.
Excellent TV October 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I did hours of research comparing this TV and the Samsung A650 and although both seem the same in features I chose the Sony because I have all Sony products, PS3, Blu-Ray player and camera. This TV blew my mind when I watched Iron Man on Blu-Ray. The 120hz motion flow and cinema settings was by far the best I've ever seen on a HDTV. The menus and options are easy to use and setup.
Few problems September 30, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this KDL-40W4100 a few weeks ago. It looks awesome when using HDMI inputs. But of course looks even worse than a regular TV when viewing non-HD sources (as with any HDTV). My two real complaints are: there are only 2 audio outputs from the TV: optical digital and stereo RCA-jacks. This will only support 2 external speakers (not center or surround sound). Bummer, as the TV's tiny speakers are quite lame. And problem #2 is: the base stand that came with the TV is not level! Ridiculous! This precision-engineered widescreen HDTV now sits 1/4" higher on one side because the stand isn't level! So now I have to put a pad of Post-It notes under the left side. Overall, this is a nice TV, but I'm still disappointed.

Something Weird About These Reviews? August 30, 2008 3 out of 10 found this review helpful
I am looking at this Sony and the comparable Samsung which is a few hundred dollars less. The Samsung has been reviewed by over 150 people while this Sony has only been reviewed by 7 (at last count). The Samsung can't possibly outsell this Sony by 20 to 1. Wassup?
