Vtech 5.8 Digital Phone system w/digital answering system August 13, 2008 Phone works great. Battery doesn't last as long as I expected it. Another thing which would be better is a key pad on the main phone/answer machine. Good reception distance. I've walked quite a distance with no problems receiving. It is comfortable to hold and small.
Very Good overall phone system. October 5, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I recieved the phone system promptly with no hassles. It has been very good so far with no problems. It looks great mounted on the wall compared to others that I have had. It seems to work great with all of its bells and whistles.
Vtech i6767 Cordless phone (2) & recorder combo. September 24, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Vtech i6767 is a very nice product for my needs. The base station with answering machine is logically laid out and is easy to setup and use. The handsets are great. S ince I am a senior, I value the great legibility of both the large blue backlighted display and keypad. The display is very easy to read in the dark without having to reach for my glasses. The speakerphone has very good audio with good volume. I recommend this product.
There's a reason V-Tech phones are so cheap September 13, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Looks nice, works okay for about a year. Like almost all V-Tech phone complaints, batteries no longer hold much of a charge after that, the extra charger just quit working after about 2-3 months. I swap out the two handsets from the base to keep them charged, but if one dies while you're talking on the phone, you cannot use the other one! You cannot have 2 people talk on two handsets at the same time, like a family would. If one handset powers off (and you only get about 2 minutes of "Low Battery" beeping in your ear before it just cuts off), you cannot use the second handset for at least a few minutes. It gives you an error message and tells you the other handset is in use. So hope that call you were on when you got cut off isn't too important.
In addition to poor performance, there are these LOUD clicks and piercing beeps that occasionally and randomly occur, unheard by the person on the other end. The handsets are not at all comfortable, and cannot successfully be wedged into a shoulder for long. The handsets hold a lot of grease from facial oils, and must be cleaned every other time they are used. Even when not wedging the phone between your ear and shoulder, it's very easy to punch a button with your cheek...most commonly the "On/Flash" button, which cuts off your call! Even if you have call waiting, and hit the flash button again, you cannot get back to your original call, although the handset will continue to count up the seconds on your call so if you have a plan that counts minutes or toll calls, it will continue to act like the call is going through, when in fact the only thing to do is hang up and start over.
I had upgraded to this phone from a 900 MHz, and I get LESS reception than before! I can't go out the door with this phone without unbearable static crackling loudly in my ear. I had better range with a 900.
Break out the wallet and pay double what this costs for a decent working phone. My old Uniden 900 MHz is still plugging away just fine; unfortunately, no answering machine.
Almost there... August 10, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This phone does a lot of things very nicely, and a few things very badly. The second handset is nice, the phone is comfortable and very clear sounding, with speakerphone and mute buttons on each handset. One thing that bugs me is that there is no battery life indicator on the phone. I can talk for 2 hours, and then I have no idea whether the battery is running low and needs a recharge or not. The other major annoyance of this phone is that it doesn't deal with country codes well with the caller ID. If I scroll through the caller ID list and try to call somebody back or add them to my phonebook, the phone drops the initial 1, and then the call fails until I manually go back and enter the 1 myself and then dial again. These are both fairly small problems in the overall scheme of things, and everything else on this phone seems to be great, but these problems should not exist and feel progressively more annoying as time goes on.
