cordless phone August 12, 2008 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
Disappointed it doesn't accept sequential dialing to facilitate using a calling card where you enter an 800 number and then a pin.
Major failure--twice July 3, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I purchased these phones in September, 2007 and the phones lasted till nearly Christmas before they failed. AT&T sent me another pair of phones and they worked OK till May of 2008, whereupon they failed as well. They died in EXACTLY the same way: loss of contact between phone and base unit. This cannot be coincidence. Customer service promised to send a second replacement set the end of May. It's now July and they still haven't arrived yet.
I'm through with AT&T.
Great Phone June 13, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This phone works exactly as described. Good distance capabilities, and crisp clear sound. Lots of options to set it up your way.
AT&T E5912B comments May 20, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I recently purchased this phone and later bought two handsets to expand it to the max of four phones. I like the features and price. Consumer reports rated this item highly. I wanted a lighted keypad, digital answering machine, and 5.8 GHz- this unit fit the bill. It's volume is loud enough and gives a test ring as you raise and lower the volume so you know how loud you are adjusting the tone. I would get it again.
Excellent Sound Quality March 25, 2008 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I worked in an office with a similar style of AT&T phone and when I moved out of state I looked for the same phones for our home. I found the newer E5912B and it met all the qualifications I was looking for in a phone system as well as being one of the top rated cordless phones on ConsumerReports.org.
I use Vonage as my phone company and this AT&T system works perfectly. I set the base unit to pick up after 4 rings and Vonage to pickup after 6 rings. This way if I'm on the phone and I receive another call I can let it go to Vonage's voicemail for the caller to leave a message. The phone will then tell me that I have a message waiting via the blinking message light even though the message is on Vonage's server.
The sound quality is crystal clear and the speakerphone is like no other. I often turn on the speaker and set it on my desk and the caller barely can tell it's on speakerphone. I love the ability to add another handset anywhere there's a power outlet for the charger; you're no longer tied to placing an extention next to a jack.
Finally, I've experienced no static interference from my WiFi network or other wireless devices. In fact the base sits right next to the microwave and still no interference (my previous phone had terrible static when the microwave was running).
