Great pic on my lcd tv June 26, 2008 Im running this cable from My Custom PC I wanted to use my pc as HTPC so I decided to get this cable for pic only, it does respond very well I played blu-ray movie and it looked so freaking awsome so far no complaints
Work after 3 cables November 7, 2007 I purchased this cable to hook my Dell XPS m1710 to my Mitsubishi 720p projector. The first cable i got was showing a red distorted picture on my projector and no picture at all on my samsung lcd panel.
I went to exange the cable and got one wich was working but there were no blue color on the screen. So i went to get my money back but they insist on trying a third cable, testing it on their own laptop and screen in the store. I was working goog this time.
I may have bough 2 cable that had problem in the manufacturing process, maybe the only 2 bad cable in the line but it was very frustrating.
I agreed with the reviewer complaining about the package. There is an easy pull tab on the rear of the package, but it only give you acces to the middle of the cable, the connector are stuck in the front of the packaging, so you have to use a combination of knife, scissor and patience to pull it out, very frustrating after the 3rd time.
No more belkin cables for me, never again.
OK Product but wear gloves to open it June 12, 2007 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a cable. It is meant to connect to devices. Connecting the should take seconds and opening the package even less. I used kitchen scissors and I still needed 2 minutes to get into the packaging. In connecting the DVI end I found that the screws were not long enough to reach the holes in the connector on the Samsung TV. A few seconds with a modelling knife on the lugs and I was OK but what a pain. Quality good and the image quality what I expected.
Ouch - Pointlessly Dangerous Packaging April 8, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Not quite 8 feet. My cable measured 7 feet, 10 inches. However, it works as it should. I agree with positive comments about the ease of connection - the large nobs made for easy tightening & removing cable at the DVI end (HDMI end simply slides into place). I use it to connect a Playstation 3 to a high-end Sony HDTV that predated HDMI (model KV-34XBR910) and enjoy the high definition picture. NOTE: While HDMI cable transmits the audio signal, sound is NOT transfered through an HDMI-DVI cable - only the high definition picture - so you will also need to buy and connect a digital audio cable for sound.
Why 3 stars? Minus one for 2 inches short. Minus one for the package. I have never encountered a more hazardous plastic shell package. To get the cable out, there is a pre-perforated arc on the backside that you pull out easily enough. However, it leaves multiple sharp points that seriously scrape your skin, so be careful. And you cannot get the cable out through that hole. I tried, and the effort drew blood! I had 3 cuts on my hand afterwards. Look at the picture of the package. The nice display of two connectors in front give a nice view of the product, but don't give room for the connectors to come through the small hole for the cable. You will need to cut through the front of the plastic with a scissors or knife, leaving still more sharp edges. All the prying and pulling was unreasonably difficult. I strongly urge the company to redesign the package for safety, to reduce waste, and to ease unpacking.
