Very good antenna, but difficult to assemble August 29, 2008 This antenna was a very good investment. We get all channels and almost all of them at 100% signal strength, even the analog channels look really nice. Only problem was assembling it, had very bad instructions, your almost on your own, but u can imitate the picture on the box to assemble it.
great reception August 23, 2008 I'm getting great HDTV reception with this antenna. About 10 miles from the transmission towers.
Good directional antenna July 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Philips MANT900 antenna is an excellent product, comes pre-assembled, does the job right and is not expensive. I have is installed in the attic and regardless of heavy-duty roof and big trees all around I get all digital TV stations within 50 miles distance. The UHF part is quite sensitive to directional orientation, which makes it excellent for those places where most stations are within 15 to 20 degrees angle. You may check on [..] where your stations are and decide if this product is for you.
Phillips antenna July 22, 2008 Arrived very quickly. It had some damage on one of the elements. It went together very easily. It did not solve my problem but I may be asking too much of it.
Great reception and easy install July 15, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I researched many options and price ranges for the right antenna before buying this one. I am an average of 30 miles and 182 degrees from all the towers in Dallas (I'm north of Dallas). I wanted to try it in the attic first even though the outdoor location would get a better signal. That's one reason why I bought an antenna that is rated for signals much further away than mine are. I bought an inexpensive shower curtain rod and screwed it to the ceiling joists with 3 pipe fasteners. I placed it towards the front of the house and in front of all the duct work. So the only thing blocking the signal is the roof.
It pulled in all the digital stations perfectly with 70-80% signal strength - more than enough to lock onto the signal. No blocking, ghosting, or any problems. I'm glad I don't have to mount it outside because this thing is huge and it gets very windy in Dallas! There are no trees or large buildings in the path of the signal. I'm not sure if buying a larger antenna than what was needed helped the signal strength in the attic but at this price ($49) it was worth a try. The pay off is no visible antenna, great signal and no weather worries. If you place in your attic, make sure you have about 5 cubic feet or more available and no metal obstructions.
