Product Description More color, for a more colorful image. Mitsubishi is taking Color to a new level with x.v.Color support and its exclusive 6-Color Light Engine. x.v.Color is the new standard for HDTV and it enables 80% more color than standard HDTV! Mitsubishis 6-Color Light Engine processes and produces images with six different colors instead of the traditional three to display a wider range of colors, brighter colors and whiter whites. Additional color features such as Color 4D Noise Reduction and PerfectColor allow for additional advanced color processing and adjustment. The result is breathtaking realism with vivid, yet natural Color Without Compromise.Larger screen, not larger spaces. These 733 Series 57, 65 and 73 1080p DLP HDTVs feature Mitsubishis unique TurboLight180 lamp system and Plush1080p processing for both unsurpassed detail in over 2 million pixels and for bright, vibrant images. The stunning High Definition picture is further enhanced by its sleek and modern look. Mitsubishis sleek, simple design provides more picture with less frame. This year even the 73 1080p DLP HDTV gets a thin frame, and a dramatically thinner cabinet. With 1080p and a compact cabinet, get a larger screen and sit closer than ever before! Go ahead and get into the action, immerse yourself... Lots of connections, made easy. Mitsubishi leads the industry with 3 rear HDMI 1.3 inputs and 2 rear component inputs for maximum HD connectivity. A Front Component Video Input allows you to easily connect an HD game system or other HD component. Additionally, a USB input for up to 5 Mega Pixel pictures connects you to large screen digital photo viewing. And Mitsubishis Easy ConnectTM makes set-up and operation so easy.
Amazon.com Product Description The WD-65733 is a giant 65-inch DLP (Digital Light Processing) rear-projection HDTV from Mitsubishi that incorporates the latest technologies for an accurate picture that is perfect for a large home theater system. Giant Performance, Small Footprint Because the latest Texas Instruments 1080P DLP chip is inside, this television yields the full 1920 x 1080 high-definition resolution with progressive scan, the highest quality HDTV standard today. With a television this size, offering more than two million pixels is important to prevent visible pixelation.
The WD-65733 supports the x.v.Color standard for 80 percent more color than standard HDTV. View larger. View back panel. |
Despite the large screen size, the WD-65733 weighs just 78 pounds and is only 15.4 inches deep. View larger. | The television can display any video signal that is connected to it. When a 1080p signal is the input, it passes through with no down conversion: The 1080p signal is maintained from beginning to end, giving the best picture quality. When a lower resolution is detected, whether it is 720p HD or a DVD, the signal is automatically scaled to display at 1080p, with minimal side effects and a very detailed picture. The screen is huge and the technologies are many, but the unit itself weighs only 78 pounds and is only 15.4 inches deep, which means it will fit into many decors. More Color The WD-65733 incorporates a slew of new technologies that combine to give this television the most realistic color reproduction available on the market today. The new x.v.Color standard is supported, which dramatically increases the color space available, with 80 percent more color than standard HDTV. The WD-65733 also supports Deep Color, a new standard that incorporates 10-bit color depth, versus the previous 8-bit color depth. With Deep Color, shaded images show less banding and greater contrast. Coupled with this technology is Mitsubishi's exclusive 6-Color Light Engine, which uses six primary colors instead of the traditional three to create more colors. Mitsubishi's Color 4D Noise Reduction, PerfectColor, and PerfectTint yield a wider color palette and the ability to fine tune the set to your exact preferences. The end result is a brighter, smoother, and more realistic picture than ever before. Connections Galore You don't need to worry about running out of connections with the WD-65733. It has three HDMI 1.3 inputs with Simplay HD certification, so you can connect your Blu-Ray player, HD DVD player, and still have an input left over. It also has three component video inputs (two rear, one front), a front USB connection so you can display up to five-megapixel photographs, and two A/V inputs with S-Video. It has a Dolby Digital/PCM output and an analog stereo output. The WD-65733 is backed by a limited 1-year warranty. What's in the Box WD-65733 65-inch DLP HDTV, remote control, two AA batteries, owner's guide, quick reference guide, quick connect guide, and product registration card.

Mitsubishi 65" DLP Television April 14, 2008 Yes there is a slight humm...but not real noticeable...the product has a fabulous picture...only problem I had was with a couple HDMI sources (my Apple TV would only do 1080i if I hooked up via component - would not work under HDMI.)... But other than that...its a GREAT TV.
Mitsubishi Scraping the Bottom! February 28, 2008 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
Mitsubishi once positioned itself on the upper scale of quality video and television products. No more. It's questionable if their DLP sets can genuinely produce a 1080p picture as advertised and their customer service and customer relations is pure garbage. Don't touch this or any other Mitsubishi Television product with a 10-pole. You'll be taken and you'll be sorry. Sony, Samsung and Sharp offer superior products and customer service. Mitsubishi has fallen to the bottom of the heap.
Probably the best TV out there for the price, but its got some quirks. January 3, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The first thing we looked for in a TV was the picture, and mitsubishi really hit the nail on the head there, the colors are beautiful, however quite substantial motion lag is noticed. I liked the picture of the Samsung DLPs more, but they were also considerably more expensive.
I have hooked my laptop up to the screen via the PC connection and the picture is AMAZING, but have not tried out the usb input yet. The number of HDMI's is fine for me. The interface is pretty good, it is simple to switch between inputs and the sound is OK, but as some other reviewers have said, some fiddling with it is necessary.
The fan is quite obnoxious if you are close to the TV, but at a regular sitting distance for this TV(about 15-20 feet) It is not noticeable. I have never been bothered by the sound of the cooling fan other than when I go back behind the TV to connect something. It is quite loud then, and the fan is really quite forceful, it blasts hot air out of the left hand side and kept blowing things off of a shelf we had next to it. This leads me to question how the TV would operate without the ventilated location it has in my home, and that it might easily overheat.
The one thing that I really dislike about this TV is that the bulb burnt out after only 8 months of use. We sent for a new one under its one year warranty and it shipped actually quite quickly. So their customer support was impressive, but I just don't understand why the bulb on this one doesn't last. We had another DLP TV before this one and the bulb on on that one never burnt out. I can only hope that the new one doesn't burn out because by that time it will be out of warranty and these bulbs run for around $250. Yikes!!!
Poor color tuning & a hum December 20, 2007 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this Mitsubishi to replace a smaller Sony HDTV and had it for three days before returning it. There were two problems:
First the TV cast a very noticable blue cast on dark colors including people's hair, walls, and virtually anything dark. There is little black or gray. There are three factory settings for color adjustment: Brilliant the default factory setting, which cast the blue cast, bright, and natural. The best picture is the brilliant, and to get rid of the the blue one has to go to a very dim "natural" picture. If I wanted to watch a dim picture I could buy a used standard definition TV for virtually nothing. The set has great color controls, but no matter what I did, including lowering the blue drive I could not get rid of the problem.
The hum many others have commented on starts out low and after an hour is very noticable. I had no such problems with the Sony, and I also have a Samsung, both of which had no problems like this.
I bought a Toshiba 65" to replace the Mitsubishi, and I could immediately tell the picture was going to be great.
Buy at your own risk.
