Digital TV easy October 24, 2008 I recently converted from analog to digital receipt of my TV signal in my weekend getaway. I tried rabbit ears and a digital converter box. Poor signal quality on the rabbit ears made the free digital experience almost unworkable. Several channels didn't come in at all.
The new Terk took a little fine tuning in the house to get the best signal. But now, I've got high quality digital receipt on all the channels in the Atlanta area. I'm 30 miles from downtown.
I recommend the simplicity of the Terk.
Working normally October 21, 2008 I agree with some reviewer's opinions that its functions are depended on your local area's signal. The antenna is currently working normally in my place, however, sometimes when my local area's signal gets weaker, it cannot receive it very well. Over all, it is still a great product, at least it works a lot better than my old antenna.
Works in Lower East Side of Manhattan October 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this antenna to be used in an apartment on the Lower East Side of Manhattan in NYC. The old RCA rabbit ear picked up most of the HDTV stations, but could not pick up channel 13 (WNET) consistently. The TERK HDTVi picked up WNET as well as a few more channels.
Terk HDTVa Antenna October 13, 2008 I purchased this antenna for my Toshiba 30 HDTV set which does not have a ATSC(digital) converter. This antenna is great!! Not only can I receive HDTV and DTV signals from the local stations 30 miles away, but I can actually receive digital signals as far as Philadelphia-150 miles away with good reception!! When weather conditions are favorable, you can receive much more than your local stations. Highly Recommended for free HDTV reception.
Bad design October 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Ever since I gave up cable TV due to higher cost and poor program choices, I've been looking for a better set of 'rabbit ears' to get free over the air broadcasts. I mostly just enjoy and watch PBS and educational programming these days, the rest is just so much posturing and nonsense, not to mention the commercials on most cable channels that do nothing but insult the intelligence of American viewers.
Design issue If you extend the rabbit ears fully the unit falls over, really stupid (read moronic) design and the engineer(s) that designed it need to go back to school and get a real degree.
I immediately returned it to BestBuy and got another design that does not fall over when trying to actually put the device in standard use.
