You need good cables for Component March 23, 2007 Acoustic Research makes cables that are as good as they can be made before hitting a massive wall of diminishing returns, yes, cables can be made better, but no one would see a difference in picture quality between the AR cables and some exotic $250 cables that lab equipment could measure a difference in. I have used their stuff for years for analog signals that can gather interferance.
Good quality cable January 12, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought several sets of component video cables, including the Acoustic Research AP091 and the Monster Ultra 1000. I have to admit that by looks alone, the Monster cables seemed far superior to the Acoustic Research. But they should, considering how much they go for. I hooked both of them up between my 1080 HD Cable Box and my Sony 1080 HD TV. I am not an expert by any means, but I did not see any real difference between the cables performance wise.
For the price, I would recommend the Acoustic Research cables.
The Best Overall Cable July 16, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I currently utilize the 3 foot version of this cable for my DVD player. In the past I have used the common "yellow" analog connection for my dvd players, however, after discovering component video there is no turning back. This particular cable is very durable, and provides outstanding signal strength. Acoustic Research is reasonably priced, and there are no defects to their products. As a result of their excellent products I have become a loyal customer for years to come.
GREAT VALUE! October 23, 2005 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Let's face it. Most audio cables are WAY over-priced (Monster in particular)! These are priced where they should be and provide very satisfactory performance at the right price. You might get a little better performance with a more expensive cable, but you'll have to pay 50% more to get just a small improvement (law of diminishing returns). Buy these. You'll probably never know (or hear) the difference.
A good compromise April 7, 2003 10 out of 19 found this review helpful
I notice a much better picture with these cables vs. the component set that came with my DVD player. Those had little shielding and lacked gold connectors. The price of this set is a good compromise for those who don't want to shell out four times as much for Monster cable.
