The wire was cheap and it worked flawlessly when I transfered 10 hours of digital video from a camcorder to a laptop.

I was so happy to pay so little for this product that sells at stapples and other stores for much much more. It has worked great so far without any problems. I use it to copy my camcorder minicaset tapes to my laptop.

After reading all the Amazon review of this product I have decided to go for this, though my initial thought was how come one can offer a quality product of such a low price. And believe me, I was completely wrong. I am not saying, this is the best available in the market, but I bet you will not get at this price. You have to pay 15 - 25 times more to get a better product than this. I have transferred all my videos from my MiniDV to laptop. The quality was superb. The data loss was very minimum. But same time you have to remember the video quality can be decreased because of the software you are using. So always use better quality software.
Bottom line: Just go a grab one. Skip this only if you really don't care about your budget.
